About iGuardPDF
Most PDF tool sites give you the basics for free and hold the useful part — the security — behind a paywall you only discover once you actually need it. We built iGuardPDF the other way around: every conversion, merge, split, and basic security tool is free, permanently, with no signup and no forced watermark.
The part we charge for is the part that actually matters once a document leaves your hands: knowing who has it, being able to prove a copy is yours, and being able to cut off access even after the fact. We don't claim a document can't leak — nobody honestly can. What we build is what happens next: every copy traceable, every leak provable, access revocable from anywhere.
iGuardPDF is an independent product, built and operated as its own company — not a rebadged tool from a larger platform. We're early, and building in the open about what's live versus what's still in progress, rather than overselling features that aren't ready yet.
What we actually believe
Free means free, permanently
Every conversion, merge, split, and basic security tool works with no signup, no forced watermark, and no bait-and-switch trial window. It's not a funnel dressed up as a free tier — it's a real, complete toolkit.
No overclaiming
We won't tell you a document "can't leak" or is "screenshot-proof." Nobody can honestly promise that. We say exactly what a feature does and doesn't do — including when something is still in legal review before it ships.
Security you can verify
Password Protect uses real AES-256, checked against an independent tool (poppler) during development, not just our own code checking itself. If we say something is encrypted, it's encrypted.
Build in the open
We're early. Some Pro features are built and tested but gated behind legal review before real user data flows through them — we say so on the page, not just in fine print.
Where things stand
The full free toolkit — merge, split, compress, convert, sign, watermark, password protect, unlock — is live today. Pro's fingerprinting and revocation features are in active development; some, like photo verification, are fully built and tested but intentionally not switched on for real users until they clear legal review.
