How to Remove a Password From a PDF
Unlock a document you already have the password for

A password-protected file you created yourself, or one you have legitimate access to, doesn't always need to stay locked. Here's how to remove that protection.
What you'll need
- The password-protected PDF
- The password itself
- Under 30 seconds
Open the Unlock PDF tool
Go to iguardpdf.com/unlock-pdf.
Upload the protected PDF
The file uploads as normal even though it's password-locked.
Enter the password
This has to be a password you already know — the tool removes protection, it doesn't crack or guess one.
Click Unlock
The unlocked PDF downloads — no more password required to open it.
Common mistakes to avoid
•Trying to unlock a file without the password — this tool only removes protection you can already unlock yourself; it isn't a way around a password you don't have.
•Unlocking a document and forgetting it's no longer protected — if it's still sensitive, re-lock it or turn on a fresh password before sharing it further.
