How to Resize an Image to Exact Dimensions
Get the exact pixel width and height a platform requires

Profile photos, banner images, and upload forms often specify an exact width and height. Here's how to hit that exactly.
What you'll need
- The image you want to resize
- The exact dimensions required, if you have them
- Under 30 seconds
Open the Resize Image tool
Go to iguardpdf.com/resize-image.
Upload your image
Its current dimensions show automatically once uploaded.
Type in exact dimensions, or use a quick scale
Enter a specific width and height if you know what's required, or use the 50%, 25%, or 10% buttons for a quick scale-down without needing exact numbers.
Check aspect ratio lock
Leave it on to avoid a stretched or squashed result — the other dimension adjusts automatically when you change one.
Click Resize
Your image downloads at the exact size you set.
Common mistakes to avoid
•Turning off aspect ratio lock without meaning to — this is the most common cause of a distorted, stretched-looking image.
•Confusing resize with compress — resizing changes pixel dimensions; if the file size is the actual problem, compression alone might be the better fit.
